High Intensity Photographic Illuminator (H.I.P.I.)
|
The H.I.P.I system is a continuous duty 7.0Kw. Xenon light source designed to produce very high illumination levels for high-speed photographic and video applications. Its primary purpose to provide the necessary illumination to produce high resolution video and ballistic photographs of weapons projectiles in their launch and dynamic of "free flight" state. The illuminator contains a high-pressure Xenon lamp and a precision electro-formed metal parabolic reflector. A collimated light beam 24 inches in diameter produces an adjustable beam from 18" to 36". The intensity of beam center to beam edge does not vary more than 50% of center intensity, or one camera lens f/stop.
